KEY to archaeological and geological features

1	Eighteenth century stone bridge
2	Ancient ruined stone building, ancient mooring stone and more recent unroofed stone building, around shingle beach of rustic harbour
3	Early 20 th century landing, crane and tram railway starting point
4	Boulder clay deposits, evidence of past raised sea level and/or glacial action. Possible fish holding area in adjacent rock pool
5	Massive conglomerate with rounded pinkish granitoid and other pebbles and small boulders and other more angular clasts
6	Palaeozoic dyke appearing as a horizontal sill beneath lighthouse crag, with adjacent abundant massive conglomerate
7	Nineteenth century lighthouse keepers' walled garden. Adjacent slope contains quartzite and red jasper pebbles
8	Eighteenth century lighthouse keepers' cottage with C19th Trinity House crow-stepped gable embellishment. Refurbished by CADW
9	Eighteenth century freshwater well with stone well-head
10	Flag-staff base and beyond, the site of C18th coal brazier after replacement of coal-fired light by oil in 1804, shown by heat-discoloured rock
11	Stone steps of unknown age leading onto northern end of islands
12	Two dry stone cairns, probably navigation alignment marks, possibly guides to the rustic harbour
